IN THE END

IN THE END
In the end what is left?
Laughter unheard and dreams not dreamt.
Fun still left to be had floating in fun's pergatory dying a painful death.
Memories stopped abruptly with the last beat of your heart.
In the end what is left but silence and tears?
Those things that do not sustain with hope and faith.
Things that only bring temporary comfort when I pick up the phone to call and remember that you're gone.
In the end what is left to say to your children.
How many times can they be asked "Are you Okay"?
That gets old and we already know the answer to that question.
How do we move on and remind them that it's okay to do the same.
In the end what is left?
You forgot to tell us what to do if something like this happened.
Pick up the pieces, keep on laughing, keep on being and keep on loving.
It would have been nice to have you around forever or at least little longer.
That way our bond would feel a little stronger.
That way our ties would feel a little tighter.
That way I could have told you I love You.

In loving memory of my Beloved Cousin Cynthia Faye Mitchell
